i dont agree with this. we could have both. a dedicated group ON STANDBY plus ppl reacting when needed

reasons are  : 10 seconds to redeploy, god knows how many seconds to be able to spawn where its needed. that makes the whole thing uneffective

just imagine the responsivness you can have by a dedicated group on standby. within a few seconds they can get the job done. thats tempo tempo  :)

sorry, i just love the idea of badass "black ops"  flying in with a valk and be super effective and dominant   :)

This is the reason we encourage self organization inside the specialist Groups, if the discussion inside the group setters the person leading it to operate in a certain way. It is up to him to try it out and organize it or to pitch it as a possibility during ops.

My personal comment to this is that, yes functioning like that is a potentially effective strategy for some of the groups. But, remember that each unit on the continent not fighting is dead continent pop. So it needs to be utilized effectually and someone needs to judge if the pros outweigh the cons, on the fly.

the standby only works when there is enough re4perlings online

standby doesnt mean sitting on redeploy screen for hours

i am totaly with you guys on this

so, how should this be implemented in live play?  is there a head of such operations or should i step up?  (stepping up meaning organizing it. not necesarily leading it)

I think specialist groups shouldn't wait on their redeploy screen, but be the first react. So for example if the PL/SL says that, hey, bring a sundie to the next base with ground support, then the specialists for that are acting immediately, while the rest stays on their place
Adding to that the PL can callout for the specialists to get ready (redeploy) when the PL feel they need to be somewhere else in a moment.

"Specialists! Get ready!"
*The Specialists immediately redeploy*
30 seconds later - "Specialists! Ghost cap Recycling!"

i have enough experience to know how it really plays out on live. in the heat of th battle, leaders cant always foresee. leaders cant remember everything.

ive tried the way i propose a lot of times - it works!

my idea only works when there is enough re4pers online, so the guys on standby dont hurt too much. the effectivenes pays back their absence elsewhere.

i am sorry that i insist so much on the standby, but i think i am right.

there is no better way to find out but to try it out.

unfortunately we cant try it out yet because we still dont have ppl signing up for it

time will tell...

btw i am not talking about all the specialization groups but only for "Lightning". the fast response group. for the beginning, three ppl would b enough

I see multiple issues with keeping players in reserve for quick reaction purposes:
- This is a free to play game, people are not comming here to stand at the WG, waiting for orders. If you can still find the exceptions and build up a force of them, as a PL, I would be happy to use them
- Still, even if we can have such reserves I don't think that the best use would be to actually wait. Of course, they can effeciently step up against small scale ghostcaps, and maybe even start such -> we are already leaving here the definition of reserves
- Usually we end up in massive fights where usually everybody is needed to do their job, and push in with numbers. Tactics can also work sometimes of course, but generally the battles we fight depend on two questions: Can we stop the zombie horde or can our zombie horde be stopped? (I reference here to the World War Z movie and not mindlessness :) ) Our opponents are just good enough so that usually (not always) no other tactic works.

Based on the above I see 2 options for quick reaction forces:
- neutralizing backcaps
- starting back caps

Both is a very important and vital task if we want to be successful and if I misunderstood anything then sorry :)

In general, we are still working on the specialist system and are waiting for people to sign up. The ingame and TS ranks will be sorted out probably this weekend.

- of course there will be downtimes, but most of the time, during main ops, the lightning group will be active. the group covers a lot of scenarios that are needed quite frequently during main ops

- i wouldnt call the lightning a reserve

- numbers : as i said before, lightning is only possible if enough re4pers are online. if you have more than 65 re4pers online, giving three to six ppl to the lightning wont hurt as much as it profits

as presented in my main post about lightning, there are way more than two options:

- c4 drops on enemy armor. e.g. the enemy sunderer next to our point hold. or the tank that is attacking our sunderer
- hacking terminals on next target. providing spawns on next target. preparing the next base for the re4spect groups to move in
- dropping in the back of the enemy. eg spawning an armor collumn in the back of the enemy armor collumn
- providing air and armor supression on tactical positions. e.g. deploying lock on heavies and or AA maxes on hill tops
- hacking strategic terminals in enemy territory all over the map. during down times we could sabotage the enemy, hindering him from spawning vehicles
- becoming the target to distract the enemy from the main forces
- provide transportation for routers, maxes,...

so basicly everything to support the main forces all around their point hold. there is a lot to do. downtime will be quite small i guess.. i dont know. it has to be tested during a couple of OPs

i think of lightning as a tool to the hands of the leaders. its also up to the leaders mind to give work to the lightning. any task that needs to be executed very fast, without having to organize it : call out what and where to the lightning, and its done.

Jokes aside - lets get cooking again.

To make progress we need to come from both sides: Specalists need to be proactive and offer their service while the leaders try to order them.

The idea behind specalists is to see the niche and hit it hard. Sometimes the Leader spots it first, sometimes the Specalists.
