My first was: I payed 3 months of membership and they announced it. WTF would happen if I would pay for a whole year? They would nerf VS?

The new continent is a great example for the still running progress of this game.
The new scenery, new mechanics and some storytelling are perfect to improve a Planetside "franchise".

Is there an estimated time of release?
Cause i would realy like to play on it and my thoughts are that it seems to be a complete new direction of gameplay compared to other continents
-
They did not give any estimate, i would be shocked if it came before our 6th anniversary in February next year.
-
But they could plan to lunch it for their 6th anniversary.
-
I personally Hope they have something else and big (not as big) for Planetside 2 anniversary. They kinda hinted about but not said what it is. At the end of stream Nick was saying
"we promise there is gonna be some absolutely amazing stuff coming before the end of the year" and then Wrel goofed off and kinda interrupted.
Could be related to the teasers, that ppl speculate it might be Base shields or Black ops
-
And performance - some speculate that we might get directx 11 support
-
What exactly dx11 means? what will it add, except i presume better fps and performance.
-
Hopefully, especially multi threading support, better usage of cpu/gpu and stuff. I have not that much knowlegde about it, but we will see what they will introduce (and what they will break on the way :P )
-
DX11 would also allow to use more textures(or textures with a higher resolution) because it's capable of handling a bigger gpu memory. The texture libary of PS2 is well optimized with many object sharing the same texture to save some memory use but still it's at the very limit already.
It's also advanced to work with textures and dissplacement maps to make good use with tesselation (but i don't belive they would impliment this for the sake of performance)

This wednesday (30.01.2019) the Beta of Planetside Arena will start. (including these quality rangefinders for hunting (https://www.villagevoice.com/best-rangefinders-for-hunting/) and everyone who pre ordered the game) DX11 is still in work but had some drawbacks on the PTS. Oshnur is still in work but not the top priority of the DEV team and Wrel himself made clear that the continent design is a challenge to him as he had not much experience with a project of this scale. The PS:A beta start might lead to a new wave of announcements in the following days/week.
Are there any updates coming to Planetside 2 in the coming weeks or months? Is there something new cooking?
