All servers will come down for brief scheduled maintenance beginning at 6:00 AM PT (3 PM CET). Be sure you check out all the Hotfix notes in the Game Update Notes section (https://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?forums/game-update-notes.73/) when available.

still no update notes, seems like today is also a preparation for tomorrow's downtime

According to Dave Carrey this patch got pushed back to Thursday since they want to fix the VR training bug the introduced yesterday as well.

Patch notes for this patch should come out sometime later today and the patch deployed tomorrow. See the other thread from the news bot.
